What is the limit of brake lining wear?

Brake lining wear limit is 1.2 mm, but in practice, manufacturers will require replacement brake lining to have a maintenance limit greater than this value.There are two main requirements for brake lining technical parameters in the car manual, one is the thickness standard of brake lining, one is the maintenance limit, different brands have different requirements for these two parameters. For example, Honda Civic requires a brake lining thickness of 9.5-10.5mm and a service limit of 1.6mm. Usually the front wheel brake pad replacement mileage is 30,000-50,000 km, rear wheel brake lining can be up to 12,000-150,000 km. If the brake is soft and the braking performance decreases in the process of use, the wear of brake lining can be detected and replaced in time.
